Perhaps even more so. Many art galleries spend inordinate amounts of money on modern stick figure drawings and paintings that are not nearly as appealing as the prehistoric cave drawings. What is art to one person might not be art to another. Doesn't mean that there was less talent or skill involved. For the day and time in history, these cave drawings are far superior to some modern art offerings of today. There was no benefit of art class lessons or a trip through the classics in Europe, or beautiful coffee table books containing pictures of the works of the masters. To me, their ancient art was a gift from the heart -- pure and unadulterated artistic talent created for no reason other than personal pleasure.pacifica62https://www.blogger.com/profile/03433535460716644295noreply@blogger.com
