Choice Choices

Some people feel the rain. Others just get wet.

Bob Dylan
*************************
I don't want to hear the world complain
I want to go out and feel the rain.

I don't need a religious path
I just need a nice hot bath.

I don't want a ring in my nose
I just want to don my comfortable clothes.

Let the others groan and gripe
I'll just sit and smoke my pipe.

I don't need those strange tattoos
I just want to wear my comfortable shoes.

I don't need to ride a motor scooter
I'd rather write on my computer.

I don't need long gray hair
I want to sit in my comfortable chair.

It doesn't matter how I look
I'll just sit and read my book.

I don't want to fret and fear
I'd rather have a glass of beer.

I don't need to own a gun
I'd be friends with anyone..

I don't want to be ordered and led
I want to lie in my comfortable bed.

Enough of trouble, strain and strife
Give me the serene and simple life.

I really like this. These thoughts are sort of where I am in life right now. What used to be important is no longer so. Give me a serene and simple life --- and amen to that.

Such comforting poetry, speaks to "everyman" I'd say. All we really want at a certain point in life is just to be left alone (with our loved ones lol) but I get it, and agree. I like the ease in reading and relating to this. As to that question: I'd like to be breathtakingly beautiful for one hour while riding bareback on a white horse in the ocean spray of the shoreline. That's yet to happen. Yes I'm serious - deep down, there's a shallow yearning I suppose. How bout yourself?

You sound a little like the gal in Eat, Pray, and Love I am still reading. She is rebelling against chanting the long one, but she finally quells her rebellion and settles down to enjoy the yogi ashram she came to India for. Well, if you can't get to India you got to learn how to be content where ever you are and that's sometimes a stretch for me.

Tranquility, a destination, but the journey is pretty fun also.
