anon

Can anyone tell me how I can permanently block Anonymous from entering a comment on my journal? I can't even delete the current comment. I'm not posting another journal entry until I know. I deleted my whole last posting. It was the only way I could get rid of the Chinese pornography from anonymous.

Hi DB, I'm not sure, I've been getting them too. Thats why I was thinking of making my blog private.

Sorry about removing the instructions, but I messed up. My apologies. So here goes: Go to your "dashboard", click "settings", click "comments" - scroll to second option, "who can comment", and click "REGISTERED USERS". This should hopefully get rid of the anonymous commenter. (((HUGS)))

Click on your settings tab, then click on "comments". Scroll down to "comment moderation", and click "yes" on "show word verification". That's what I did to prevent the spam. Your readers will have to type in a nonsense word, but the "bots" that do spam (they're not real people) don't know how to type it in.

I do it this way because I have a lot of readers who can only leave comments as "anonymous".

DB, sorry to hear you were getting attacked by spammers. I turned off anon posting as well to get rid of this problem.
