Light

I am just a candle in the dark lit by another's flame, but he who is truly enlightened shines with his own flame needing neither match nor wick.

Lit by another's flame, eh? Of those who need neither match nor wick... since there isn't anything that really spontaneously combusts, maybe it is the truly enlightened who are fortunate. They are alone in having the conditions to make something of themselves.

This reminds me of Albert Schweitzer's:

At times our own light goes out and is rekindled by a spark from another person. Each of us has cause to think with deep gratitude of those who have lighted the flame within us.
