2 hours and 20 minutes on the phone with Verizon and AOL Verizon managed to restore my ability to post on Facebook. AOL determined that Google is acting up and so I still can't post comments on anyone's journal. In order to create a Vagabond Journey, I now write it on the Journal composition page then copy it to the AOL write page and thence on to my friends. The very nice woman at AOL also said that she had the same trouble posting comments years ago and that it finally corrected itself. So there' s hope.
Altogether I estimate that I have probably spent at least 9 months of my life on the phone with tech support or waiting for something to arrive in the mail.
Now I have drunk too many cups of coffee and smoked too many cigarettes, and my left ear is sore. It's a hell of a way to spend a beautiful Saturday afternoon.
All the "hellos"were me testing things out. Thank you for your patience and your gracious replies. If I feel like it I may write a Vagabond Journey for tomorrow, or I may drink a bottle of wine instead.

You just wrote a Vagabond Journey, my friend. ;) By the way, I have been having the exact same trouble for two months regarding posting, so you haven't seen any posts from me. :( But you are very clever on figuring out how to find a go around! That would be a pain to keep that up forever, however!
I just tried to comment numerous times and couldn't. Then suddenly I could. Don't know how it happened, but I'll take it, LOL. BTW, my computer now worked.
Two days ago I called both AOL and Verizon and profusely threatened I would cancel both services if they didn't do something IMMEDIATELY. I meant it. I don't care HOW long I'd been with the companies. I told them it left a bitter taste in my mouth but I was going with *hack* comcast or another company, and I would bundle. Within a few hours my computer was mysteriously working again. They have also sent me a modem free of charge, no shipping required, and no need to send the old one back. Ok, I hope that fixes the problem for good. Strong arm them, my friend, if you must, LOL. I really mean it.
About tomorrow, I'm not sure which. Perhaps a little bit of both?

I had a lot of trouble posting comments for about a month, but it has finally cleared itself up. Ingesting a bottle of wine should inspire you to write several new Vagabond Journies.....
Oops! I spelled "journeys" wrong in my previous post, and I haven't even had any wine recently.....
What you need for your journey DB is an Olde Mappe of the Wurld.
There you will find clearly marked'Here there be dragons'
