Like

The results are in and have been carefully tabulated. The figure is 782. The number of times your teenager used the word "like" last week.

DB, the words I hear used most by teenagers and sports stars are "you know ..." . That really upsets me more than then "like".
Now it occurs to me that the phrase is probably "like you know" or maybe it is "you know like".
Guess I will have to listen more closely in the future.
Second thought, I won't do that either.

I hate when young people say "Word" all the time. I can't even figure out what it means, LOL. When I ask them, they roll their eyes and say, "You're too old to know, it's our generation's word, and we're not goint to tell you!" It makes me feel so old, LOL. I was strongly told that it does NOT mean yes, and I was just NOT going to get it, so don't even try!...

The one I hate the most is "whatever".

Now that mine are past the teenage phase, I don't hear their words as much. They are usually busy texting with their thumbs, lol.
