I gave my heart to someone and she stomped on it with lies and betrayal. It's an old story. But just because it's an old story doesn't make it hurt less.
you can't fault yourself for being human and wanting to help someone you cared about. the true shame is that this person took advantage of you and your kindness. be gentle with your heart and forgive yourself for trying to do the right thing.
It'll take a while DB to get over, but you are strong and you'll get thru this. As hard as it is to lose a close friend who meant a lot to you, it was better finding this out now versus years down the line.
